My heart goes out to you guys.Įdit: please ignore the petty argument I'm having with a guy on here. Also I'm Canadian, I actually cannot imagine how rich you have to be in America to get this surgery. I'm just venting because this process is set on hard mode when you are a student that is alone and also make their income for very physical work. I'm extremely grateful for my friends and family who have offered me support. Finally I'm buying a used brace off of ebay thats my size because for the activities and work I do, I need it. Then when I finally got the I still didn't get a brace for recovery.
#Acl labs near me manual#
I couldn't afford a brace the first time I tore my knee but when I did a manual labour outdoor job with a torn knee for 6 months my knee was popping out a lot. I had to hire someone to pick me up from the hospital because I couldn't find anyone else. This time around (second surgery) I got lucky and I stayed with friends who were angels and helped me recover at their place last minute. The first time I had surgery I had asshole roommates that left water on the ground near the sink so I slipped and fell twice within the first two weeks after surgery, which aggravated that he'll out of my knee. The physio is far from me and it requires I take two buses and crutch up two flights of stairs (it's the dumbest fucking shipping complex built into a hill) and the physio costs 80 each time I go. And when I go to the checkup the ortho looks disappointed and it's always a punch to the gut because I HAVE to weight bear at least with one crutch to get on the bus, get to labs, get groceries, get cash for rent etc. After both of those surgeries I had to start weight bearing way sooner than I should have just so I can get to my uni classes and get myself food.

Some profs are assholes and don't realize that I can't handle solutions in a lab on fucking crutches I'm a student that lives alone in a shitty rental where the landlord is a bastard who makes my life challenging even when I can walk I feel it's just assumed you have these things. No one told me that after acl surgery I would have to stay with people that could look after me and help transport me to physio appointments and what not.
